Gary Stasitis

Gary Stasitis, 73, passed away on October 27, 2021.
Gary was born on January 9, 1948. After graduating from Ellet High School in 1966, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army and then landed a job with the City of Akron working in the Motor Vehicle department until retirement.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Dorothy; and brother, Don. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; sister, Pamela Drotos; his children, Mark (Michele) and Michelle Gearhart; and 5 grandchildren, Emerson Zahab, Mallory and Landyn Gearhart, and Anderson and Harper Stasitis.
Gary will be remembered as the best "Poppy" there ever was. He was very proud of his grandchildren and never missed any event in which they were involved.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church (2580 Berne Street, Akron 44312) on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 12:00 noon. Family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.

Also, the family would like to give special thanks to all the caregivers who gave Gary care at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center.
Gary will be laid to rest at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
