Gay N Reeder, 72, of Kent, passed away Sunday, April 6 at the Hospice Care Center. She fought a courageous battle for 6 yrs with Scleroderma. Gay was born in born and raised in Fries,VA to the late Frances and Stella Campbell. Later she moved to Akron in 1957. Gay was a member of Gospel Crusaders Church in Goodyear Hts. for over 50 yrs. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel throughout the country. Gay will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband Rufus Stoneman and many other family members. Gay is survived by her husband of 27 yrs Jim; children Dennis (Katrina) Stonemanof Akron, Sharon (Mike) Barr, of Tallmadge, Glenda (Kenny) Menefee of Amherst, OH, Connie (Richard) Rose of Denver, CO, Trish (John) Stefan of Uniontown, Kris and Kim, and special nephew George Smith; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Tuesday April 8 from 5-8 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N Canton Rd, Akron. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor John Beers officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Family has requested that donations can be made to the Rootstown Fire Dept.
