Gaylord A. Meffert

Gaylord "Gayle" A. Meffert, 72, passed away December 16, 2019 in his home. He lived in the Akron area most of his life and graduated from East High School. Gayle then joined the U.S. Marines and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Upon returning home he became an electrical contractor and was the owner of G's Electric in Akron, Ohio. Gayle greatly enjoyed collecting guns, his Harleys, trucks and spending time with his family and dogs. His grandsons were his pride and joy.

Gayle is preceded in death by son; Michael; parents, Robert and Shirley; brothers, Robert, Jeffrey; and loving dogs, Thor and Harley. He will be sadly missed by daughter, Tracy (Mark) Lukasik; grandsons; Travis and Chase; brothers, Patrick (Sue) Meffert, Curtis (Laura) Meffert; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, December 20, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A Celebration of Gayle's Life will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial donation in Gayle's name to the Humane Society of Summit County or the American Cancer Society.
