Gene Zimmerman

Gene Zimmerman, age 87, was welcomed into his heavenly home on February 8, 2023. He became a born again Christian at the Chapel on Fir Hill under the ministry of David Burnham.

Gene was preceded in death by his son, David, age 28, and his brother, Buddy.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Donna of 66 years; his children, Debbie (Jac), Glenn (Brenda) and Karen (John); five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gene married his high school sweetheart who was the love of his life and best friend for 69 years.

Gene enjoyed 25 years of retirement after working at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 40 1/2 years. He was always tinkering and working around the house, you might even say it was his hobby.

He enjoyed many family vacations, dancing (he was good), playing cards and drawing and painting in oil.

Our family would like to thank Western Reserve Hospice for the compassion and care they gave him.

Per Gene's wishes, there will not be any services. Our family is celebrating his new life in Heaven and remembering all the joy and love he gave us.

In lieu of flowers, always check the air pressure in your tires, he would have wanted that :)
