Geneva V. Snyder, 83, went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2016. She was born in Douglas, West Virginia to the late John and Anna Vaughan. She retired from teaching with Akron Public Schools.
Geneva was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church where she played the piano and sang in the choir. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant twin sisters; sisters, Ruby and Mabel; brother, Paul; and granddaughter, Candice. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul Snyder; son, John (Barbara) Siers; stepson, Tim (Karen) Snyder; grandchildren, Dillon, Spencer, and Serena; great-grandson, Oliver; sister, Ruth Yost; and many other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Villas and Crossroads Hospice of Northeast Ohio for all the care given to Geneva, as well as the members of Temple Baptist Church for their faithful visits.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Temple Baptist Church, 1212 Greensburg Rd in Green, Pastor Glenn E. Rogers, Jr. officiating. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery.
