George A. Finegan, Jr.
George A. "Jeep" Finegan, Jr., 67, passed away October 25, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Akron, he was a lifetime resident of the area. Jeep retired from the Post Office, and also worked after his retirement at Acme and BP. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Finegan; and brother, Stewart Finegan. Jeep is survived by his son, Cory (Aleesha); step-son, Mark; daughters, Emily, Lorie, and Chrissy; step-daughter, Toni; sisters, Lou (Steve) Pergins, Diane (Richard) Lindgren, Charmaine (Archie) Finegan, and Phyllis (Sonny) Roland; brothers, Dennis (Lori) Finegan, Bryan (Jill) Finegan, and Troy (Leann) Finegan; and a host of grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 28, from 2 to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. After the service, a memorial dinner will take place at Goodyear Metro Park.
