George A. Reese

George A. Reese, 87, was reunited with his beloved wife of over 50 years on February 1, 2014. He was born in Akron on October 4, 1926 to the late Nevin and Virginia Reese.
George proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Carter Jones Lumber and retired from the Teamsters. In his free time, he enjoyed volunteering at Akron City Hospital and Akron General Medical Center. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavs and loved to play euchre and attend family gatherings. George loved talking with friends and family and could offer an opinion on just about any subject. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette "Sue" Reese; daughter, Connie Reese; grandson, Daniel Klingensmith; two sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his children, Kathy (Dave) Newman, Barbara (Dave) Klingensmith, Kevin (Patricia) Reese; grandchildren, Dave (Carrie) Klingensmith, Connie (Chad) Pellerin, Tracy (Jason) Martin, Julie (Scott) Norman, Darryl Newman, Dennis (Liz) Klingensmith, Alisha Laston, Donnie Reese, Kenneth (Helda) Allen, Marchanna (Brett) Allen; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Per George's request, there will be no services.
His family would like to thank Debbie and Jeremy from Hospice of Summa for their loving care and allowing George to keep his dignity. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of Summa.
