George A. Slater, 57, of Akron, passed away on Memorial Day with his family at his side. George was born in Ravenna on November 25, 1954. George was a professional motocross racer and an avid bass fisherman. He made many friends through his years as a HAM radio operator. George was preceded in death by his father, George E. Slater. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Bernice "Ruth" (Joe) Slater Dallas; siblings, Ron, Cindy, Sandy, and Sheri; special niece and nephew, Brandie and Donnie; other nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Ginger. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to 1197 Juniper Ave., Akron OH 44310.
