George R. Chaboudy II, 66, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2022. George was born in Akron on May 8, 1956 to the late George and Liz Chaboudy. He began working at Ohio Gasket and Shim Co. as a teenager and remained a loyal employee for fifty years.
George's passion in life was cars. If it drove fast, he was interested in it. Throughout his life, he participated in local drag racing and stock car racing events, and spent countless nights in his garage. He made lifelong friends at all the area race tracks and car shows. He also loved playing pool and darts.
George was a straight shooter who could be counted on to always give an honest answer. If someone needed a hand, George was always there to help. He was a true friend to many and will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
He loved animals as much as he loved people and is now reunited with the many beloved dogs he rescued over the years.
George leaves to remember him his sons, George R. Chaboudy III (Mindy), Nick Chaboudy, and Joey Engle; his sister, Sandy Chaboudy; granddaughters, Emily and Lynsey Chaboudy; girlfriend, Linda Treitinger; and many, many friends including his best friend, James McCrossin.
George's life will be celebrated next summer at a memorial car show Cruise-In. Details will be made available later.
