George D. May
George D. May, 98, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Akron, one week prior to his 99th birthday. He was born on October 12, 1912 in Bridgeport, OH.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Agnes F. May; mother, Edna; brother, Albert; sister, Edna Jane.
He is survived by his daughters, Juanita Stalnaker, Shirley May, Eloise Sutton; son, Revell May; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
George served with Akron Police Department as a Lieutenant Detective, he was known for his photographic memory, his honorable service and being much respected by his peers. George was an avid fisherman with many others interests, like reading, writing and story telling. He was loved tremendously by his family and will be missed.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 9, from 2-4 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, followed by a funeral service at 4 PM officiated by Pastor Terry Baker.
