George H. Greer Iii

George (Scott) H. Greer III, 59 years old, died January 19, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. George (Scott) was born July 1, 1964 in Ravenna, OH. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served 3 years. George (Scott) graduated from Ellet High School and took Diesel Mechanics. George (Scott) liked to take things apart and put them back together. His favorite hobby was working on any size motors. If it moved, he could work on it. While in the Navy, George (Scott) worked on rescue boats to ensure they were kept running in correct order at a moment's notice. He worked for the City of Akron in the truck maintenance department.
George (Scott) was preceded in death by his parents George H. Greer Jr. and Deloris M. Greer.
He is survived by his children Scott Greer, George Greer IV, Graceyn Greer, and Skylar Greer; 2 grandchildren; siblings Denise (Lonnie) Gray, Robert (Pam) Greer, and William (Nikki) Greer.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 11am-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305) with a service to follow at 1pm.
