George H. Greer, Jr.
George H. Greer, Jr., 67 years old, died December 7, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. George was born August 23, 1941 in Akron and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served three years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 671, 92, and 377. George was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Greer, Sr. and Marymae Cole, and sister, Janice Banett. He is survived by his loving wife Deloris, who he married on January 25, 1961; his children, Denise Gray, Scott Greer, Robert Greer, and Chuck Greer; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Greer and Bob Greer; and sister, Margie Jackson. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. Military honors provided by Firestone VFW 3383.
