George L. Bahil, Sr
George L. Bahil, Sr. 78, a lifelong resident of Akron went to see the Lord on May 13, 2006 after many lengthy illnesses. George had served in Okinawa from 1945 to 1947 with the Air Force. He worked for the City of Akron for 27 years all which were at the Akron Fulton Airport and had nicknamed himself "Airport George" because of the love he had for his job. George was a member the Airport VFW post. He also had a love for playing his accordion and working crossword puzzles.
He is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Anna (nee Petrasek) Bahil; brother Steve Bahil and sister Helen Takacs. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Anna (nee Liberko) Bahil; sons George L Bahil, Jr of Akron, Patrick (Susan) Bahil of Louisville KY, and Michael (Tammy) of Green; and his grandchildren, whom he enjoyed being with, Pamela (Jeff) Harrison, Benjamin, Vincent, Justin and Ryan Nicole Bahil, Stephanie Barnhill and Parri Hinton and great grandchild Tyler.
Funeral Services will take place 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday, May 17 at the Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N Canton Rd, Akron. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and Friends may call on Tuesday, May 16 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.newcomerfamily.com
