George Clarence Lee
November 1, 1924 — September 8, 2017
George Clarence Lee, age 92 of Uniontown, Ohio, passed away on September 8, 2017 at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born on November 1, 1924 in Banning, PA, the son of the late Edgar and Florence Rose Lee.
George was an honorably discharged US Army veteran of WWII, his rank was a Corporal.
He was an over-the-road truck driver. George enjoyed traveling, fishing with his family, playing 500 Rummy with his daughters. He loved watching reruns of John Wayne movies and the Andy Griffith Show. George never met a stranger, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his four daughters, Nora Goodrich, Vada Satina, Rosemary (Albert) Brink, and Sally Lee; his eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nora E. Capien on November 14, 2003, they were united in marriage on January 21, 1943; his son, Larry Lee; his daughter-in-law, Darlin Lee; his sons-in-law, Gary Goodrich and Paul Satina; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
Family and friends may visit from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, September 11, 2017.
Mr. Lee will be laid to rest next to his wife in Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Peninsula.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice Care Center and the 7th Floor at Akron General Hospital for the care they gave to their beloved father and grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity in George's memory.
