George W. Reese
March 6, 1932 — December 9, 2020
George W. Reese of Fairlawn, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2020, after a short illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio on March 6, 1932 to the late George and Kathryn Reese.
He retired from Babcock and Wilcox Co. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for nearly 80 years. He spent his retirement years attending all five of his grandchildren's sporting/school events. He did not miss a single one. George played in the Akron Silver League, for approximately 20 years, traveling to many states.
George is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; four children, George of Los Angeles, James of Reynoldsburg, Gregg (Tracy) of Fairlawn and Becky (Blair) Kopfstein of Norwalk; and five grandchildren, Blair Kopfstein, Brandon Kopfstein, Kyle Reese, Austin Reese and Emily Reese.
His brother, Donald (Marge) Reese and a special nephew, John (Diane) Reese, also survive.
Other than his parents, George was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Reese (Meriem).
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, December 19, 2020, with Pastor Kenneth Horne officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
