George W. Laird Jr., 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. George was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania to George and Luella Laird. He served in the U.S Marine Corp.,CEO of Portage County Sheriffs Assc., several Military Assc. and other organizations.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Laird; parents; two siblings, Ralph and Dale Laird.
He is survived by son, George Laird, III; siblings, Lettie Ann, Margie(Don)Ellet ,David (Denise) Laird, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss George dearly.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305. Interment will take place at Kittanning Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in George's honor .
