Georjean Faith Baston, age 88 of Ravenna, Ohio, died on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at UH Portage Medical Center.
She was born on August 2, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Emmerson and Faith (nee Estes) Baker.
Georjean was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, and was an avid walker and bicycler. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her only daughter, Diana (John) Beresh; her grandchildren, Beverly Dietrick, Jaclyn (Charles) Carpenter, John Beresh, III, David Beresh, Ruth Beresh, and Kenneth Beresh; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, and Ryan Dietrick and Kyle, Trevor, Gabriel, and Alexandria Carpenter.
Other than her parents, Georjean was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Joseph Beresh; her aunts, Ruth Estes and Emily Pope.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Diane Richmond will celebrate Georgjean's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Restland Cemetery, Brimfield Twp., Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation, in Georjean's memory.
