Gerald L. "JC" Champion
Gerald L. "JC" Champion, 62, passed away on August 7, 2006. Born in Akron on October 12, 1943 to the late Arthur and Juanita Champion. Jerry was a member of Victory Masonic Lodge #649 and FOP Lodge #7. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and most of all, spending time with his precious grandchildren. Survivors include his lifelong soulmate Donna; daughters Gail (Carl) Kasicki and Kelly (Marty) Magdalenz; grandchildren Stuart, Wesley, Rachael, Derrick, Amber, Brandi, Caitlin, and Dina; one great-grandson on the way; and numerous special friends. Calling hours will be Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Immediately following the services at the funeral home, a gathering will be held at the FOP Lodge, 2610 Ley Dr., Akron. Online condolences may be made at www.Newcomerfamily.com.
