Gerald Cutting, 78, passed away Jan. 16, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerald was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired from General Tire after 30 years of service. His favorite past times were hunting and fishing, and crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Clara; and brother, William. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marva; daughter, Tammy Lock; sons, Jerry (Sandy) and Steve (Linda); grandchildren, Steven, Josh, Jake (Amanda), Dawn and Tara; great-grandson, Allen Lee; sisters, Virginia, Geraldine, Mary and Mildred; and brothers, Paul and Jim. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be conducted immediately at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Bradley and Rev. Jack Coontz officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
