Gerald E. Longfellow

Gerald E. "JJ" Longfellow, Jr., age 47, is at peace after a long battle with Lymphoma and passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013. He will be sadly missed. He was born on September 9, 1965 in Glendale, CA to Gerald and Jean Longfellow, Sr. JJ loved Nascar, taking things apart to put them back together and was 'Mr. Fix-it'.

JJ is survived by his loving Wife, Lavena Longfellow, Mother, Jean Longfellow, Children; Joseph Summers, Nellisa (Shamar) Peacock and Mathew (Vicki) Summers, Siblings; Laura Kaye, Tammy Capan, Misty (James) Fike, Dean Longfellow, Debra (Paul) Jackson, Loretta (Keith) Fessler and Cody Longfellow; #1 'Paw-Paw' to 13 Grandchildren; many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Gerald E. Longfellow, Sr. He also cherished his longtime "bro-mance" with Keith. Special thanks to Amy and the nursing staff at CCF.

Friends may call on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
