Gerald E. Wallbrown
Gerald E. Wallbrown, 80, of Akron, passed away August 14, 2013. He was born in Leatherbark, West Virginia on December 11, 1932 to the late Carl and Elizabeth (Knoble) Wallbrown. Jerry was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954. He retired from Teledyne Monarch Rubber in Hartville after 28 years of service. He was a longtime member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Ryan Gerald Popovich. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; sons, Steven (Lisa), James (Laura), John (Marilyn), and Paul (Becky); daughters, Pamela (David) Conley, Theresa (Patrick) Popovich, and Brenda Wallbrown; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Wallbrown of Uniontown; brothers-in-law, Victor (Betty) Marcin of Uniontown and Roger (Peggy) Marcin of Dalton, Georgia; many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday August 17 from 10-11:30 a.m. followed by an 11:30 a.m. service with Pastor Harold Bradley officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa.
