Gerald F. Rowles
Gerald F. Rowles, 79, went to be with the Lord and his loving wife Dawn, on November 25, 2009. Gerald graduated from Garfield High School in 1949 and went into the Army to serve in the Korean War. A proud Army Veteran, he was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, 32o Masons, and the Eagles 555. Gerald was a lifetime member of Lifespring Christian Church (South Akron Church of Christ) and retired from the Akron Beacon Journal. Preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Dawn; brothers Ray and William; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by sons Terry (Rose), of Lisbon, OH, and Craig (Nancy), of Akron; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Hindy (Jan), of Florida; sister-in-law Linda Sowers; aunt Betty Kudla; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment at Glendale Cemetery.
