Gerald R. "Jerry" Johnson

Gerald R. "Jerry" Johnson, 86, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on October 13, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1937 to the late Gerald N. and Helen {Belden} Johnson. 

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Judy Howard and his grandson Joey Loftis.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary; children Mary Lee (Dewayne) Trammell, Susan (Dan) Dull, Lori (Bobby) Lockhart, Greg (Dawn) Primerano, Cheryl Cain and Debbie Crow; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings Jim (Connie) Johnson, Diane (Randy) Wright, David (Tammie) Johnson; brother-in-law John Howard; many nieces, nephews and their families; dear friends Caren and Bob Cole. 

Jerry retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber, where he worked as a journeyman electrician in 2000 after 45 years of service. He served in the Air National Guard as a Reservist. Jerry was a faithful member of Springfield Assembly of God, and loved to volunteer with their outreach programs. He loved to tend to his gardens and flowers; Jerry had the greenest thumb in town! He was an avid reader, loved to play cards and do the Jumble word game in the newspaper.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Springfield Assembly of God, 1551 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312 on Saturday, October 19th at 12:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Miller officiating.
