Gerald (Jerry) Keppler
Gerald (Jerry) Keppler. June 2, 1928 – March 31, 2011. He was a patternmaker by trade, and owner of XXth Century Pattern Works. Jerry was a very talented man at whatever he attempted. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, drawing and painting, and playing the piano. Jerry was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Coletta; son, "Little" Jerry; daughter, Mary Ellen Clark; and parents, Edward and Harriet Keppler. Jerry is survived by his children, Sue (Lynn) West of Colorado, Sandy (Dale) Hunsicker of Colorado, John (Janis) Keppler of California, Mike (Debbie) Keppler of Akron, and Jackie (Ed) Carson of Delaware; son-in-law, Gary Clark; brother, Butch (Marsha) Keppler; sister, Joan Longstreth; grandchildren, Kathy (Ed) Ford, Michelle (Jim) Donohue, Rae Ann (Garrett) Norton, Caroline (Chris) DiRosa; Jaret (Katie) Clark, Kyle Carmedy, Sara and Caryn Keppler, and Ryan and Chad Keppler; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. Fondly remember Dad as the leader of the band – Sue. Thanks Dad for making all our Holidays so special and fun, inspiring us to carry on your traditions – Sandy. Dad, thank you for all the fond memories – John. Dad, to a man who did his very best for everyone, but himself – Mike. We are really going to miss our "best" fishing buddy - Jackie and Ed. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 6, from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 7, at 11 am at St. Matthew Church. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
