Gerald M. Sikora "Jerry", 79, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on July 22, 2022. Jerry was born in Akron on December 13, 1942 to the late Al and Mary Sikora. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 1998 after over 30 years of service.
Jerry had many loves, including sports and the outdoors. In younger years he enjoyed coaching his children's baseball teams, bowling, golfing, and hunting. His lifelong passions were fishing and cheering on his favorite sports teams: the Cavs, the Browns, the Indians, and the Buckeyes. Most of all, he loved being Papaw to his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Conner Warren; brother-in-law, Jody Cox; and brother-in-law and best friend, Leroy Leasure.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife with whom he shared the past 34 years, Carol; children, David (Missy) Sikora, Debbie (Dan) Newcome, Mitchell Warren, and Michael Warren; grandchildren, Maylyn, Kenzie and Silas Warren; in-laws, Bill and Pat Miley, Martha Leasure, and Mary Cox; extended family; and many good friends including his longtime fishing buddies.
Jerry's family wishes to thank the staff at Akron City Summa ICU for all their dedicated care, especially Trina.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Jason Cox officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jerry may be made to the charity of one's choice.
