Born to Mr. and Mrs. Phillip G. and Mildred B. Tafoya in Akron, OH; "Jerry", as most people knew him, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, March 6th, 2021.
He is survived by his son Jeremy (Olivia) Tafoya; daughter Jessica Kuhns; son James (Kayla) Tafoya; grandchildren Steven, Andy, Stephanie, Carmen, and Joseph; brother Phillip C. (Sherry) Tafoya; sister Victoria L. Goodwill; as well as a host of family and friends.
Jerry was a loving son, brother, father and friend to those who knew him.
Jerry attended and graduated from Tallmadge City Schools. He was an author, a poet, he loved reading and teaching, he pursued philosophy, metaphysics and had a love for history. He was known for always making others feel safe, loved, and encouraged. He loved his family, friends, and community with a deep passion. He encouraged others to achieve and be the very best in life; and to love one another with kindness and strength. He was not afraid to stand up for others, and offer his help when someone needed it. He loved spending time with his family, and watching movies with them. He was full of life, laughter, happiness and brought joy to others around him.
Though he no longer walks with us, his footprints still remain.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, with family and friends sharing at 5:00pm. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
