Gerald "Butch" D. Thompson Jr., unexpectedly passed away May 15, 2021.
Butch was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 8, 1961.
Prior to living in Ellet, Butch grew up in Cuyahoga Falls. He received his Associate's degree from LCCC and volunteered for many years with the VVA.
Butch is preceded in death by his father, Gerald D. Thompson Sr., and two sisters, Shirlynn Bernaciak and Teri Lynn Thompson.
Butch leaves behind his daughter, Kimberly Kline; his grandsons, Michael (Nichelle) Childs and James Kline; his great-grandson, Max Childs; his loving mother, Shirley Ann Thompson, with whom he lived; his sisters, Geri Lynn Pohly and Juli Ann Hiner; and many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as, family in Iowa and Florida, and countless friends.
Butch loved fishing, grilling and spending time with his friends. Everyone is waiting for his call, as we ALL know he took his cell phone everywhere.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
Following visitation, Butch will be cremated.
