Geraldine Marie Barron

Geraldine Marie Barron, "Gerri", age 82 of Kent, Ohio, died on April 11, 2022 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna.
She was born on November 10, 1939 in Akron, the daughter of the late George and Mary (nee Riley) Weakland.
Gerri liked to play cards, read, puzzles, however, her greatest joy was taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children, Denise Barron of Newton Falls and Daniel "Dan" Barron of Kent; her four grandchildren, Danielle Barron, Kayla Barron, Destiney Miller and Nathaniel Miller; and one great-granddaughter, Ana Parsons.
Gerri's siblings also survive, Maryann Oliver, Arlene Ciolli, Evelyn (Mike) Lowe and Thomas Weakland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that mourn her loss.
Other than her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her eight siblings.
Per Geraldine's wishes, there will not be any calling hours or services and cremation will take place. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
