Geraldine A. Dees

Geraldine "D" A. Dees, 77, of Akron, called to her heavenly home on January 11, 2024. She was born on October 28, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to John and Leola Smart. She retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 33 years of service. She loved going to the casino and enjoyed playing spades with her friends and family.

Geraldine cared deeply about her family. She was a devoted mother who unconditionally loved her three children, and made sure they never wanted for anything.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tilford Pickett, Leola "Cookie" Smart, Eddie "Buck" Smart, Sarah Smart, Johnnie Smart, Pamela Idlett.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Ronnell Pickett, Regina (Raynard) Woodard, and Samuel (Chonita) Dees; sisters, Maryetta Pickett, and Meann "Amelia" Foster and her special friend, Jay; favorite nephew, Richard Smart "Daddy Rich,"; her favorite pets, Tyson and Pudge; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Saturday January 20, 2024 from 12pm until 2pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service for Geraldine will take place at 2pm. The service can be viewed via livestream on Saturday at OneRoom Streaming
