Geraldine R. (Scheiller) Green
1950 - 2023
Geraldine Rae (Scheiller) Green, age 72, passed from life, to death, to life eternal on
May 23rd, 2023. Born on July 30, 1950 in Akron, Ohio, Gerry grew up with a knack for
art and writing, talents that became even more pronounced in her adult years. Gerry
loved her two Shelties, Dolly and Fancy; she won a number of dog competitions with
them and often took them on hospital visitations. Gerry was also an avid horse lover
and won numerous competitions with her beloved horse, Seralar. Another love in her life
was her beloved husband, Edward L. Green, whom she married on September 4th,
1992.
Two areas Gerry was passionate about were her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, and her heart for the deaf community. She taught sign language classes for
many years, and she led a signing choir that performed in nursing homes, at church,
and at the Akron Children's Hospital annual Christmas Tree Festival. The lives that
Gerry touched with her kindness and generosity are too numerous to mention, and she
will be dearly missed by many. She was preceded in death by several loved ones,
including her beloved husband. We, her surviving friends, children, grandchildren, and
great grandchildren will miss her antics and her smile.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24th at the Springfield Assembly of
God, 1551 Canton Road in Akron, Ohio. Receiving of friends and family will begin at 1
pm with the service at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gerry's
memory to Springfield Assembly of God church (see address above) or the Deaf
Outreach Church at 2300 Greensburg Road, Green OH. Her friends and family invite
