Gerard Robert Hutton, "Gerry", age 55, of Akron, Ohio, died on June 5, 2021 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born in Darby, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1965, the son of the late William Francis and Florence (nee McCarry) Hutton.
Gerry was really proud that he went to St Cyril Elementary School and Monsignor Bonner High School, both in the Philadelphia suburbs; he also attended Allentown College and Villanova University. For a brief time, he was in formation for the priesthood. He was a die hard Notre Dame and Eagles fan.
Gerry was retired from the FBI in the New York and Philadelphia areas.
Some of his hobbies included fishing, reading, spending time at the beach and was a very proud Uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Matthew Parish in Akron.
Survivors include his loving wife, Katherine "Katie" Lowe, whom he married on October 25, 2014; his siblings, William "Bill" (Eileen) Hutton, James "Jim" (Joan) Hutton, Joseph "Joe" (Nancy) Hutton, Barbara "Barb" (Jim) Gray and Pat Blaisdell; his brother-in-law, Marty Hopson and all of their families. Also surviving is his wife's parents, Ronald "RB" and Linda (nee Johnson) Lowe; and wife's brother, Eric (Clarissa) Lowe and their family; his special friends, DJ and Carrie Biasella, and good friend, Marta (Mike) Keane.
Other than his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by two siblings, Stephen Hutton and Mary Beth Hopson; and his loving, man's best friend, Tess.
Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM where Father Mike Williamson will celebrate Gerry's life.
Family and friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Matthew Parrish or Summit County Humane Society, in Gerry's memory.
Gerry's memory will live on as he was a donor through Life Banc.
There will be a memorial Mass later this summer in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.
