Gerry Lee Williams

On July 18, 2024, dressed in her Ruby red slippers, Gerry Lee walked the yellow brick road to be reunited with her Daughter.

Gerry, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born & raised in Akron, Ohio her entire life. She dedicated her life to her children & grandchildren, telling anyone who would listen about their greatest accomplishments. Gerry was known for, and perfected the gift of gab. She was very proud of her Syrian heritage, and made sure everyone knew it. She worked many jobs in the hospitality industry over the years, where she loved talking to, and getting to know people. Many would say Gerry never met a stranger. She opened her arms and home to many of her children’s friends over the years. She was known as Mom to many more than just her biological children. Gerry had overcome many struggles in her life, never succumbing to any one of them. She instilled her determination into her children and grandchildren, with them knowing she would never let them fail.

Gerry was preceded in death by her Daughter, Shelley; Son-in-law, Demetrius; Mother, Martha; Father, Jerry; Brothers, Jimmy and Chuck; and Sister, Debbie.

She will be sorely missed by her Children, Sam Michael (Theresa), Thomas (Laina), Tammie, and Paul (Jenny).

Forever remembered by her Grandchildren, Ariane, Huntré, Shyan (Kevin), Logan, Kenndal, Skylar (Dylan), Audrey, and Demetrius II (little Dee).

Great-grandchildren: Isaac, Matthew, Mason, Katherine, Amiraé, Braden, Leon, Addysen, and Ryder. And Siblings, Rick, Jimmy, Nancy, & Michael.

A very special thank you to her grandchildren Shyan, Kenndal, and Skylar and her dearly loved Maggie for their special time and dedication they gave to care for Gerry the last few months.

We love you to the moon and back, George.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Gerry will be privately laid to rest at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Akron on a later date.
