Gertrude M. Bonner

Gertrude "Gertie" M. Bonner, 87, passed away on March 17, 2023. She was born on August 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Delton and Sylvia (Nestor) Jones of Parsons, WV. Gertie worked for 45 dedicated years first as an accounting clerk and then as co-owner of Bonner Cleaning Service. She enjoyed traveling across the country with her family—camping, boating, fishing and hiking. She loved spending hours working in her beautiful flower gardens in Ohio and West Virginia. Gertie was also a talented crocheter and seamstress, gifting many of her beautiful works of art to family members and even the families' pets. She had many accomplishments, but her greatest love was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 67-1/2 years, Seymour "Allen" Bonner; and siblings Cleland, Kenneth, Phyllis, Carol, and Delores.
Gertie is survived by her loving family, daughters Beverly Brookman and Peggy Sue (Joe) Kachovec; grandchildren Ryan (Amy) Brookman, Corinne (Doug) Hayes, Krista Kachovec, and Julianne Kachovec; great-grandchildren Emalynn, Celeste, Wyatt, Katie, and Wilson; sister Barbara (Gilbert) Hart; special niece Andrea (Michael) Gilbraith; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday (March 24th) from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 4:00pm with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.
Interment will be held Monday 2:00pm (March 27th) at Clark-Carr Cemetery at Hendricks, WV.
