Gilbert M. Lane

Gilbert M. Lane, passed away on December 16, 2023. He was born on July 12, 1924 the son of Gilbert and Ruth Lane. He was a man of faith and attended the U.C.C. in Tallmadge. Gilbert graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Yale University with the class of 45W (1949). He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and saw action at the battle of Okinawa. Gilbert owned and operated Stow Auto Parts for almost 30 years. Gilbert looked forward to playing cards with family and friends, especially his favorite game of bridge. He enjoyed racing his sailboat and was an avid reader able to read a book in a single afternoon. Gilbert had many achievements but his greatest was his love for his family especially his grandson, Max.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Gwen Lane; siblings Mary, Kitty, John, and Martha.
Gilbert is survived by his loving family, daughter Cynthia (Tom) Lidderdale; son Doug (Katherine) Lane; grandson Max Lane; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation will take place.
