Glada M. Worrells

Glada M. "Dickie" Worrells, age 82 of Akron went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2021. She was born in Reedy, WV on September 17, 1938 to the late Herman and Wanetah {Summerville} Ferrell.

In addition to her parents, Dickie was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Bill Worrells, Sr.; brothers Sonny and Bill Ferrell; sister Betty Hines; granddaughters Misty and Rachel; grandson Mike; great-granddaughter Chelsey.

Dickie is survived by her children Skip (Cheryl) Gillman, Crickett (Dave) Hutson, Rick (Lorie) Gillman, Kelly Jarvis (Jim) and Billy (Tammy) Worrells, Jr.; honorary son Jerry Newberry; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Bob (Linda) Ferrell; sister Barbara Ferrell (Richard); numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dickie had a kind, generous and loving spirit, and would give her last dollar to help anyone in need. Anyone that met her, loved her, and she will be very dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 on Saturday, September 11, from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 3:00 p.m. There will be a private committal at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date, where Dickie and Bill will be laid to rest.
