Gladys S. Bennett (nee Palmer)
Gladys S. Bennett (nee Palmer), 81, passed away on January 8, 2006. Gladys was born in Spelter, WV on November 7, 1924. She attended Victory High School. She was a member of New Horizons Christian Church and had worked at Goodyear Aerospace during WWII. Gladys also worked at O'Neils and retired from White Swan Dry Cleaners. Preceded in death by her husband William C. Bennett; brothers Junior and Bill; and sister Elsie. Survivors include son William C. "Bill" Bennett; sister Mary Stalnaker; grandchildren Jeremy and Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be TODAY, 5-9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service Wednesday, 1 p.m. at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd., Akron. Interment will take place on Thursday at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery in Shinnston, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Horizons Christian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.Newcomerfamily.com.
