Gladys V. Harris

Gladys V. Harris, born April 13, 1922 in Elkins, West Virginia, went home to join her Lord, her husband Stuart, and son Russ on Friday, February 1, 2008. She was one of ten children born to Lota and James Taylor. She is survived by her sons, James (Janet) Harris and Bob (Marilyn) Harris; daughter, Virginia Harris; grandchildren, Matt (Kim) Harris, Martha (Brad) Luken, Tami Sanders, Scott (Edith) Cross, Nichole (Chris) Wright, Adam Harris, Michael Harris and Heather Harris; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Andrew Harris, Tristan Luken, Carlos Cross, Anna Sanders, Charlye, Carley, Katie, Jacob, and Kaleb Wright; sisters, Rose Chenowith and Rilla Doerr; sisters-in-law, Wilma Lee Sturm, Alta May Robinson, and Laura Tennant; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to her nurse Charlott and her aide Mary from Hospice. Mom, You lingered on this earth longer than you wanted. You kept telling me you wanted to go home. My heart broke knowing I wasn't ready to let you go, but praying for the Lord to take you. You are at peace now. You know how hard life has been watching your loved ones go before you, especially your own child and your youngest sister. You leave behind many, many friends and loved ones, but are having a reunion beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you, Mom and Dad for our lives and our Christian Family. We are so blessed. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12 p.m. with visitation from 11:30 - 12 at Millheim Baptist Church, 2661 Hayne Rd., Pastor Kim Lawrence officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
