Gladys Ann West

Gladys Ann West, 89, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023. Born in Spencer, West Virginia to Porter and Vessie (Kessell) Paxton, she lived in the Akron area most of her adult life. She was a plain spoken lady who enjoyed going to church, listening to music, watching Jeopardy and the Dallas Cowboys as well as spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Tanner; daughter-in-law, Alice Tanner; 8 siblings. Gladys is survived by her husband of 20 years, Edward West; children, Don Tanner, America Luedy; step-children, Joyce (Ed) Dark, Leah Weinsheimer, Scott (Jeanette) West; grandchildren, Dwayne (Amanda), Crystal (Ed), Teresa, Kimmie, Branden (Lynn), Michael (Lindsey), Jared, Aiden, Logan, Lainey; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
