Glen Earl Smith

Glen Earl Smith, 95, of Akron, passed away on July 9, 2023. He was born in Parkersburg, WV on June 27, 1928 to Guy and Bertha {Lawman} Smith.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his beloved wife Blondena in 2010, and their son Ronald Smith in 2021.

Glen is survived by his loving children Clyde (Judy) Smith, Yvonne (Keith) Musgrave and Karen Nixon; daughter-in-law Sandy Smith; grandchildren Little Ronnie (Sherrie) Smith, Shane (Dawn Wymer) Smith, Lesa (Steve) Thompson, Tracy Smith, Keri (Bill) Deyling and Guy (Ashleigh McDanield) Nixon Jr.; great-grandchildren Cassie, Lauren, Ryan, Caleigh, Shelby, Emma, Levi, Alyssa, Chase, Kelsea, and one on the way; great-great-grandson Michael; many extended family members.

Glen loved his family more than anything, and his favorite memories were made traveling and camping with them, often with bluegrass music on the car radio.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 16th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 17th at 10:30 am with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Interment to follow the service at Hillside Memorial Par, where Glen will be laid to rest with Blondena.
