Glenis E. Burdette

Glenis E. Burdette, 87, of Akron, passed away on January 23, 2018. Glenis was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Akron Baptist Temple and a former choir member. He retired from C.P. Hall Co.

Glenis was preceded in death by his brothers, Emmitt Burdette Jr., Leonard R. Burdette, and Marvin "Joey" D. Burdette; and sisters, Phyllis Rollyson and Josephine Burdette.

Left to cherish Glenis' memory are his wife of 64 years, Mary Ruth Burdette; children, Gail (Mark) Meadows, Grace (Andy) Spisak, Alice (Gary) Chaplin, and Roy (Jodi) Burdette; siblings, Marie Lauharn, Mary Slater, Darlene (Steve) Elmore, David Burdette, Russell "Mickey" Burdette, Roger (Kathy) Burdette, Ricky (Karen) Burdette; sisters-in-law Kate Burdette and Kitty Burdette; grandchildren, Marissa Meadows, Josiah Meadows, Daniel (Rachel) Eckberg, Christina (Rob) Walker, Adam Spisak, Samantha Chaplin, Nathan (Hannah) Burdette, Raven Burdette, and Johnnie Burdette; great-grandchildren, Audrey Eckberg, Eva Eckberg, Jackson Walker, and Xander Walker.

Friends and family are welcome at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron 44305 on Monday January 29, 2018 from 10:30am to 11:30am, with a funeral ceremony to take place at 11:30am. Rev. Gary Chaplin will officiate. Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
