Glenn Allen Drown, age 72 of Akron, Ohio, died on May 6, 2019 at his home.
He was born on December 20, 1946 in Akron, the son of the late Rollin Ernest and Lily Elanore (nee Rouse) Drown.
Glenn was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He then became a welder and worked as a fitter bender for B&W in Barberton. Glenn also worked at Tenable as a security guard.
Mr. Drown was an honorably discharged US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Glenn LOVED his recliner and Sparky, his dog. He enjoyed the band, The Eagles. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Barbara J. Nave, whom he married on September 20, 1980; his children, Christopher John (Lisa) Viningre, Todd (Danny) Viningre, Nancy Viningre, Scot Viningre, and Misty Dawn Viningre; his grandchildren, Jessica (Shane), Kristina "Nina", Deven Allen (Hallie), and Kendell "Ken"; his great-grandchildren, Landon, Lilliana, Kashton, and Charlotte. His siblings are also surviving, Dennis "Denny" Drown, George (Tina) Drown, and Debbie (Keith) Hammond; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Other than his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his daughter, Lara Marie Viningre; and his brother, Rodney Drown.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
