Glenn O. May
Glenn O. May, 83, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2009. He was born September 20, 1926 in Akron, Ohio to the late Grover C. & Margaret (Lanhart) May. Glenn served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later worked as a Master Baker for Ideal Bakery. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than anything. Glenn was extremely loyal to his family, friends and country. In turn, his family loved him dearly. Preceded in death by one brother, four sister's and one grandson, lil Bob. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary E. (Matheney) May; daughters, Julia John Watters, Beth May (Charles Hackney) and Mary J. May; sons, Denny May (Pam South) and Duane Kristie May; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and very special long-time friend, Jim Gribbin. A memorial ceremony will be conducted on Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Darlene Garber officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. Sunday until the service begins.
