Glenn R. Barnard
April 15, 1939 — June 3, 2012
Glenn R. Barnard passed away on June 3, 2012 at home, surrounded by his family and friends, at the age of 73.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Margaret Barnard; and brother-in-law, Joseph Pohlod.
He is survived by siblings, Carol "Sis" Pohlod and Dale (Becky) Barnard; wife, Jeanette (Weakland); sons, Greg (Missy) and Mark (Janine) Barnard; daughters, Dana Kovach and Heidi (Harry) Evans; grandchildren, Gregory, Shelby, Brittany, Stacie, Jeremy, Brandon, and Adam; special friends, Chuck, Jon, Paul, Ray, and Vonda.
Glenn was a lifetime diesel mechanic. He served with the US Army for 2 years and the Army Reserves for 4 years. He was famous for his sense of humor and quick wit.
Special thanks to the nurses of Hospice of Summa for their care.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4-7 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. , Pastor Robert W. Tauscher officiating. Burial will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions to Concordia Lutheran Church or Hospice of Summa.
