Glenn Weimer

Glenn Weimer, age 94 passed to his eternal home on January 4, 2022 as he wished in his own home. A servant of the Lord, Glenn was born to Bert and Amy (Chagnot) Weimer, on March 18, 1926 on the family farm in Austintown. A graduate of Chaney High School, class of 1945. Glenn served in Korea during World War II in the U.S. Army. He provided a home and cared for his parents until their deaths. It was then he met his wife of 49 years, Anne Marie Menning. They were married at St. Mark's Victory Lutheran Church on January 15, 1966. Glenn was a true "churchman" singing in the choir, serving on the board and always ready with his tool box to make repairs. Glenn was a wonderful neighbor, lending a hand and baking homemade pies. He enjoyed gardening, vegetables and flowers, woodworking, computers, study of God's Word and Blue Grass music.

He was recently honored for his work as an operating engineer with Local Union #66, where he belonged for over 60 years.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Anne, his brothers and sisters: Edward (wives Edna and Helen), Bert (Nadine) Weimer, Mildred (Norman "Jake") Marshall, Thelma (Norman) Smith, and Russell (wives Betty and Freda) Weimer.

Glenn will be deeply missed by numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces, as well as a host of friends.

A service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Mark's Victory Lutheran at noon. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.
Interment will follow with Military Honors at Canfield Village Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Mark's Victory Lutheran Church at 280 Mill Creek Drive, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
