Glodean Mae Kamerer

February 4, 1916 — August 14, 2013

Glodean Mae Kamerer nee Pinkston, 97, joined her loving husband, Leonard, on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, surrounded by family in a room full of love.

She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on February 4, 1916 and came to Ohio in 1929. She worked on the Corsairs during WWII at Goodyear Aerospace and retired after 28 years.

Glodean was a 40-year member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church and is a current member of Springfield Baptist Church. She had many friends and enjoyed being with them through church, travel, Tallmadge AARP and Primetimers, and Ellet Golden Keenagers. She served on several boards and committees and was a member of the Devol Class and Women's Mission Society.

Glodean was preceded in death by Leonard, her husband of 58 years; parents A. Howard and Ada Pinkston; siblings Nina Shaffer, Clementine Bennett, Beatress Timms, Coleman Pinkston, Clyde Pinkston, and Ray Pinkston.

She leaves behind sons Karlan (Dona Bowman) of Akron, and Roger (Patricia) of Cincinnati, OH; sister Violet Van Lear; grandchildren Kelly (David) Jones, Kristie Kamerer, Vanessa (Tad) Jenkins, Adrianne (Brian) Stemley, and Alexander (Megan) Kamerer; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother and sisters-in-law and special daughter-in-law Sandy Kamerer.

Since 1998 when her husband died, Glodean has said she wanted to see God first and then Leonard. Her wish has been granted.

The family thanks Hospice of Senior Independence for all their care and help these past few months. And a big thank you to the wonderful, wonderful women of Haven Homes for loving and taking care of Glodean her last five years. She told everyone that if you couldn't live at home, this was a good place to be.
