Gloria A. Carmack

Gloria A. Carmack, 82, passed away on July 29, 2010. She was a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church and Tallmadge Prime-Timers. Gloria retired from JC Penney's and always enjoyed her "Penney's Luncheons" with her co-workers. She also enjoyed reading and caring for her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Helen Lettie; husband, Herbert; infant daughter, Terri Lyn; brother, William Lettie; and uncle, Jake Lettie. Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Ken) Herchenroeder and Christine (Jerry) Masters; sons, Richard (Nancy), Ronald (Margaret), and Robert; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Virginia) Lettie; dear friend, Delores Chandler; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Essex Nursing Home, Hospice of Summa, and the Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa or the American Cancer Society.
