Goldie Agnes (nee Makkos) Bank
Goldie Agnes Bank, 92, went home to be with her Lord on December 17, 2007, following a brief illness. She was born at her home in Akron, Ohio on August 26, 1915. Goldie was married to Calvin John Bank for 52 years prior to his death on May, 1986. She retired from Montgomery Ward in 1976 following 17 years of service there as Department Manager of Domestics/Linens. During her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling, reading and Cleveland Indians baseball. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sandra Kay (Bank) Stine and son-in-law, Walter (Bud) Stine of Hartville; loving granddaughter, Michelle Suzanne Stine Barnoff and grandson-in-law, Frederick J. Barnoff, III; adoring great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Frederick Barnoff and Olivia Grace Barnoff of Uniontown; sisters-in-law, Josephine Makkos and Rosa Bank of Akron and Rose Makkos of California. Family and friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Judy Carney officiating.
