May 5, 1949 — July 13, 2016

Gordon Lee Tarr, "Gordie, Uncle G, G Dawg, Gramps," 67 peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 after a 2 year battle with lung cancer with his children, grandchildren and family by his side.

Gordon was born on May 5, 1949 in Akron, Ohio. He was a welder by trade. He taught himself to play the piano and guitar. He lived his life carefree and to the fullest. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and 4-wheeling, and he especially loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob C. Tarr and Elizabeth P. Hudson, and brother, Harry Hudson.

He is survived by his daughters, Yvette (Keith) Sweger, Kelley Tarr, Angela (Rodney) Walston, and Kristy Tarr; grandchildren, Derek (Jessica), Ashlie (Aaron), Lindsey, Whitney, Samantha, Brennan, Courtney, and Nicolas; great-granddaughter, Addy; siblings, Bill (Margie) Tarr, Sharon (John) Kovac, Linda (David) Arnold, Melissa (John) Podrosky, Elizabeth Volk, John Hudson, and Margie (John) Poda, and many nieces and nephews that were very special to him.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Memorial donations may be made to his family in care of the funeral home.
