Gregory Scott "Greg" Jones, age 57 of Hartville, Ohio, died on February 20, 2023, peacefully, at his home.
He was born on August 28, 1965 in Akron, the son of Judith (nee Tallent) Jones of Hartville and the late David Eugene Jones.
Greg was a 1983 graduate of Field High School and was honorably discharged from the US Army, serving during peacetime.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and watching his grandchildren grow and play sports. When he was healthy, Greg loved riding his Harley, fishing and hanging out with his friends.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his two sons, Matthew (Lena) Jones and Andrew (Brittany) Jones; his five grandchildren, John, Brooklyn, Logan, Tyson and Caden Jones.
His brother, James Jones, also survives, along with his nieces and nephews, Jamie (Sean) Corner, Michelle Brantner, Tina (Derek) Acker and David (Christa) Routh.
Other than his father, Greg was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Randy Routh; and his grandparents, Dewey and Mae Tallent.
Greg was loved and will be sadly missed by many.
Calling hours will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
Following calling hours, Greg will be cremated and his cremated remains will be placed at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
