Grover Heber Farrar, Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls went home to be with the Lord on September 25th, 2021. He was born on December 7th, 1923 in Byesville, Ohio.
Grover was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He enjoyed reading, especially his Bible, books on Bible prophecy, word search puzzles, and western movies. His faith was strengthened by his love of Gospel music. Grover was a quiet man with a great sense of humor. He was a World War II veteran, proudly served his country during the Battle of the Bulge, and was honorably discharged in April of 1946. Grover was a member of Horizon Christian Fellowship Church, Uniontown.
In addition to his parents and twelve siblings, he was preceded in death by loving wife Mabel, who he called "his lady"; his daughters Colleen, Kathy, and most recently, Judith.
Grover is survived by his son-in-law, James Farrar, his beloved children, Darlene (David) Pickens, Danny Farrar, David (Kaye) Farrar, Michael (Loretta) Farrar, Kristine Farrar, Mary (Kevin) Doan, Jill (Kevin) Scanlon, Heather (Matt) Greif; grandchildren Jeremy (Tiffany), Barb (Bernie), Jennifer (Jason), Tim (Jennifer), Ashley, Allison (Justin), Spencer, Carter, Haleigh and Evan; great-grandchildren Eliana, Myra, TJ, Michael, Bailey, Cadence, Hendrix, Miles, Findlay and Evelyn; numerous relatives and friends.
All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 on Saturday, October 2 from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 12:00 p.m. Well deserved military honors will be rendered at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, on Monday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. For those planning to attend services at the cemetery, please plan to arrive at the cemetery no later than 10:10 a.m. Following those services, Grover will be laid to rest with Mabel and their daughter, Kathy.
